Strictly judge Craig wants Seann and Katya to do ‘dance of shame’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Sean Walsh and Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones have dominated the headlines since they were photographed snogging on a night out in London last week.

Despite their indiscretions, the 32-year-old comedian and Russian-born dancer will compete on the BBC dance competition this weekend.

Now, judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed he wants to see the pair do the ‘dance of shame’ on Saturday night’s edition of the programme.

In a pre-recorded interview for The Jonathan Ross show, Craig said it was important Seann and Katya, 29, competed.

“My take was keep them in the show, make them do the dance of shame, if you like,” 53-year-old Craig began.

“I’m just saying it’s really important that if this does happen to you, you face up to it and you either, as they’ve done apologise.”

Encouraging the twosome to put on a good show for viewers, Craig insisted they “get on with the job” and show people what they can do.

He added if he was in their position he would say to himself: “‘OK, this is what I did, I’ve been employed to do this job, I’m going to go on, do the job.

“‘Get on with it and do it well and do it professionally.’”

His comments come after Seann and Katya apologised in their first joint interview since pictures of them passionately kissing emerged last week.

Seann and Katya were quizzed about the well publicised images by It Takes Two host Zoe Ball and told viewers they were sorry for any hurt they had caused.

“I made a mistake which I am very sorry for, I’m sorry for the hurt I caused, you never think about the extent of the damage you are going to do in the mistake that you made,” Seann said.

Speaking about his former girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, who issued a statement announcing she had broken up with the comic, Seann continued: “I am not perfect, far from it.

“Our relationship wasn’t perfect, that doesn’t mean I wanted it to end the way it finally did.

“I am very sorry for that. It is also important for me to say, the people who know me the most, who love me, know I am not the person I am being portrayed as.

“I’m still sorry for what I did but it’s very important for me to get that out there.”

Meanwhile, Katya said: “Obviously I’ve apologised and I can’t apologise enough to everyone who it hurt and involved, but the main thing for me is me and Neil are absolutely fine and that’s what matters to me the most right now.”

The Jonathan Ross show air Saturday on ITV at 9.50pm.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.15pm.
