English football celebrates Non League Day on Saturday as the Premier League and Championship is put on hiatus for the international break.
Manchester City will not be playing and the club have urged fans to watch local non-league teams in action instead.
Yet amazingly they missed out neighbours Salford City.
Salford’s Peninsula Stadium is based just five miles from the Etihad in the north of Manchester.
The club is owned by a number of Manchester United legends, including Gary Neville.
And Salford’s social team picked up on Manchester City’s snub.
City tweeted: “Our pick of tomorrow’s local #NonLeagueDay2018 fixtures! Get down and support your local team!”
Below is a picture of fixtures available to fans… yet no mention of Salford.
And Salford replied, adding their home fixture versus Braintree Town to the bottom of the list.
“Thanks @ManCity. Kick-Off against Braintree is 15:00!”
“Adults £10, Concessions £5, 5 and Under Free”
And Gary Neville joined in of the act, retweeting Salford’s message with a cry laughing emoji.
Salford sit top of the National League – a point ahead of Leyton Orient after 15 games.
The club was bought by ‘The Class of 92’ in 2014, with Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs joining forces to buy it.
