Arsenal news: Aaron Ramsey breaks silence over Gunners future | Football | Sport

The Welshman’s current deal at the Emirates runs out at the end of the season and the club have recently withdrawn their offer of a new contract.

Ramsey was expected to stay at Arsenal but the recent developments now mean the midfielder is facing an unfortunate exit in the summer.

And speaking out today, the former Cardiff City man has now all-but confirmed he will see out his current deal before leaving the club at the end of the season.

“Everything has been going great with the club,” said Ramsey.

“We thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal, but that is no longer the case.

“So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I’ll leave the rest with the club now.

“That’s a decision that they have made. Things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best I can.

“That is all I am concentrating on and giving my best for Arsenal.”

Ramsey won’t be short of offers when he leaves north London, with Liverpool reportedly keen on securing a deal for the player.

And Wales manager Ryan Giggs admits the 27-year-old is a good signing for any team at the highest level.

“Aaron can play anywhere and for any club, he’s suited to any league,” Giggs said.

“He’s played at the top with Arsenal and has been there for 10 years. Then there’s all the games he’s played for Wales.

“He’s a goal-scoring midfielder who, if he plays 40-45 games a season, is going to score 15 goals. They don’t grow on trees.

“He’s also a good character, has a good personality and is a good professional. So if he does go, somebody is getting a very good player.”
