Tom Hardy writing new grime ALBUM 20 years after his rap mixtape | Music | Entertainment

The 40-year-old star is best known for his Hollywood roles in Mad Max Fury Road and The Dark Knight Rises.

However around 20 years ago he had ambitions as a grime artist, and saw some of his music from the time leaked earlier this year.

Hardy used the stage name Tommy No1 for his rap mixtape called Falling On Your A***.

However it now looks like the star will be releasing an actual album.

According to , a source said: “Tom has always had a huge passion for rapping ever since he was a young boy.

“In the past he’s put song-writing on the back-burner but just recently decided to pick things up again after building a friendship with producer Sam Williams.

“They’ve been busy working on a selection of songs together for an album and it’s really starting to get some steam.

“Tom’s a bit tentative about releasing it for the world but big labels including Warner have already shown an interest in picking it up, so there is real potential for it to hit the charts.”

Meanwhile Hardy’s next film is Venom, in which he plays the title role.

The comic-book movie, released next month from Sony, is a spin-off of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

And after that Hardy stars in Fonzo, a biographical crime film about Al Capone.

Set after a decade in prison, Hardy plays the mobster dealing with dementia.

As for future roles, Hardy has expressed interest in sequels to Mad Max: Fury Road and Venom.

The actor is also the bookies favourite to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, with odds as short as 2-1 and even 1-1.

However the incumbent 007 has one more film to go with Bond 25 shooting this December, so it’s going to be a long time before producers are looking for a replacement.
